Fiz-link: Other topical distribution media

Weave your web by proposing RSS flows, by calling on your partners’ services, and by improving the distribution of your press releases

First contact

Proposing regular news updates in your site certainly feeds the contents of a newsletter (see  Fiz-mail: e-mailing)  but also gives the opportunity of calling on other services and media supports likely to relay your remarks. Here are some ways of making new relationships on Internet…

RSS Flow:

An RSS flow or RSS wire is a syndication format of Web content. This system distributes in real time the news of information sites or blogs.

By entering the address of your page in specialised software (aggregator), users can receive information and go and visit the site if they want further information.

The RSS flow leaving the site is proposed to the visitors. It is possible if necessary to propose a flow restricted to certain headings in order to refine the information placed at the disposal of visitors.

It is thus possible to be registered using flow aggregators (online or offline) in order to receive information about the innovations of the site, rather than receiving emails.

Example of on-line aggregator: http://www.netvibes.com

Certain companies propose statistics specific to flows in order to know the uses made by their users (tools used, number of clicks towards the site, etc.)

Example:  http://www.feedburner.com (in English)

In addition, once this flow is set up, it is possible to improve its distribution by offering it to flow directories.

"Partner" network.

The sites of your company’s partners form a network to regularly activate or reactivate to improve the distribution of articles, press releases…

The proximity link existing with these sites allows for greater flexibility and better control of the content and the presentation of the text.

Press releases:

Many Internet sites publish press releases, ensuring extensive distribution of information.

Some offer this service free of charge, others for payment.
